- Project Management, Productivity, and Task Application: Action Method
There are too many ideas in the world, and not enough action. Without organization and productivity, brilliant ideas never happen.
Action Method Online is a radically different approach to productivity, designed to simplify project management and life.
All of life can be divided into "projects" - the categories we use in our minds to separate and make sense of what we need to accomplish (e.g. "the party I'm planning," "client X," "event Y," "finances"). The Action Method helps you manage your projects starting with the most basic elements - always with an emphasis on action. - The 99 Percent - It's not about ideas. It's about making ideas happen.
At 99%, Behance's think tank, we focus on what happens after inspirationresearching the forces that truly push ideas forward. Our profiles of proven idea makers, action-oriented tips, best-practices sessions, and annual conference are all designed to help you transform ideas from vision to reality. - Crappy Personas vs. Robust Personas - Jared Spool
There’s been a lot of discussion lately on the Interwebs about how personas are a useless tool... - Building a Data-Backed Persona - Boxes and Arrows
Incorporating the voice of the user into user experience design by using personas in the design process is no longer the latest and greatest new practice. Everyone is doing it these days, and with good reason. Using personas in the design process helps focus the design team’s attention and efforts on the needs and challenges of realistic users, which in turn helps the team develop a more usable finished design. While completely imaginary personas will do, it seems only logical that personas based upon real user data will do better. Web analytics can provide a helpful starting point to generate data-backed personas; this article presents an informal 5-step process for building a “persona of the people.”

DDSLAM! Unsolved Histories
Every four months in Vancouver Film School's Digital Design program students participate in what is called the DDSLAM. We are given eight hours to complete an unknown design challenge.
This time around we were asked to make a motion graphic infographic to tell the following tale:
"On February 2nd, 1922 the gunshot body of William Desmond Taylor was discovered in his home in Hollywood. The silent film actor and director had been killed the night before by an unknown assailant. Now, almost 90 years after the night of the crime, the murderer still hasn’t been identified despite a wide range of possible suspects.
The brief is to create an infographic or animated presentation of a theory for the Taylor murder."
Our submission is far from jaw dropping, but it’s complete and it’s certainly entertaining. In the time crunch some (most) of our assets got lost in the chaos and never made it into the final cut.Cast: Jesse Lang, kasey lum
